Every week, the Ajax Daily Youth team names one player as ‘Talent of the Week’ on our Twitter account. Today will mark as the first piece on the site about the ‘One to Watch’, with the ‘Talent of this Week’ being Dillon Hoogewerf.
The 15-year-old attacker has had a good few weeks. Against FC Utrecht U16 he provided one assist and a week later he was named ‘Best Attacker’ and became the top scorer at an international tournament in Italy with the U15’s. A week later he played and started for his ‘own’ team – Ajax U16 – again and he showed his class. Hoogewerf scored a hattrick in the first half, won a penalty, hit the post and assisted Denilho Cleonise with a very good cross.
The talent has now scored ten goals this season in 19 official matches, in which he also assisted 10 goals. Together with Naci Ünüvar and Solomon Bonnah, Hoogewerf was one of the players who were promoted to U16 last summer.
