Ajax Academy: Unlucky loss for Ajax U17, U16’s and U15’s win easily

The Ajax Daily Youth Team brings you all the latest news.

Three Youth teams (U15-U21) were playing this Saturday. All the three teams played their matches on our Academy, De Toekomst.

Ajax U17
After the midweek-win over PEC Zwolle U17 (5-1) Ajax U17 faced PSV U17. In the first half, PSV took the lead after 16 minutes. The Ajax-talents had possession and tried to break through the PSV defence, while the visitors occasionally broke out via long-balls. Ajax was close to the equalizer a few times, especially when Quinten Timber hit the post after a good combination. The 1-1 was scored by Brian Brobbey. Eros Maddy cut inside and the ball ended up in Brobbey’s feet, who shot the ball into the net: 1-1. After the break, PSV scored the 1-2 from the penalty spot. During another counter-attack by the visitors, Liam van Gelderen fouled his opponent and was sent off. There were a few hectic minutes close towards the end of the game. Brobbey shot a penalty against the crossbar, Jaymillio Pinas (Ajax U16) made his official U17-debut, and Kenneth Taylor almost scored another world-class goal, after his beautiful chip last Tuesday. Sontje Hansen saw Taylor in space on the other side of the box and passed the ball to him, Taylor’s shot hit the post and no one could get to the rebound. It was Ajax U17’s first loss with Dave Vos as trainer, and it was a very unlucky one. However, Ajax U17 is still on top of the table. On Tuesday Ajax U17 will play against AZ U17.
