Joel Veltman is set to extend his contract with Ajax. According to De Telegraaf, the 25-year-old reached a verbal agreement with the Amsterdammers on a new deal which runs until 2020. Veltman has 12 months remaining on his current contract.
Veltman, who joined the famed Ajax youth academy at the age of 9 back in 2001, was getting linked to various Premier League sides including the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. Ajax had already offered him an extension back in april, but the defender was hesitant to sign as he felt he was more than ever ready for a Eredivisie exit.
