Norwich City have confirmed that they won’t be signing on loan Ajax defender Mitchell Dijks on a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old was a big hit with Canaries fans during his loan spell last season, and established himself as the club’s first choice left-back following the departure of Martin Olsson to Swansea City. Norwich did have the option to sign the Dutchman at the end of the season, but have decided against taking up their option after concluding that the transfer was too expensive.
Dijks scored once in 15 appearances for the club and will now return to Ajax to fight for his place.
