Luis Suarez ends goal drought with Espanyol brace

Luis Suarez put an end to his five-game goal drought last night, bagging a brace in Barcelona’s derby win over Espanyol. The former Ajax striker has now scored 82 goals for the Catalonians in the Spanish La Liga, one more than the 81 he netted for Ajax in the Eredivisie.

Suarez opened the scoring in the 50th minute following a catastrophic back pass by Manuel Juardo, who earlier had missed a glorious opportunity to fire Espanyol into the lead. El Pistolero also added the last goal of the game to his name, rounding keeper Diego Lopez in the 86th minute to secure a 3-0 victory for Barcelona. The Uruguayan has now scored a total of 26 goals in the league this season.
