Olympique Lyonnais have been handed a late blow for their clash with Ajax on Wednesday. Star striker Alexandre Lacazette has not fully recovered from his muscle injury in time and will miss out on the Europa League semi-final match-up.
Lacazette scored his 31st goal of the season in Lyon’s quarter final return leg against Besiktas, which finished 2-1 to the Turkish side and 3-3 on aggregate. Lyon went through 7-6 on penalties, but the talented forward went off with a leg muscle injury before extra time.
Ajax’s only two players missing against Olympique Lyonnais are Joël Veltman and Nick Viergever, who are both suspended for the first leg.
