Klaassen joins Everton on five-year deal

Davy Klaassen has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Premier League side Everton. Ajax are set to receive a €28.5 million transfer fee for their captain from the Merseyside club.

A graduate of the infamous Ajax youth academy, Klaassen made his official first team debut for the Amsterdammers in the Champions League game against Olympique Lyonnais back in 2011. Days later, it would take the versatile midfielder a mere 42 seconds to find the back of the net in his very first Eredivisie appearance as he came off the bench against NEC Nijmegen, signaling the start of an impressive run with the Dutch giants.

Klaassen would go on to score a total of 55 goals in 181 games for Ajax, winning three league titles and a Johan Cruijff Cup in the process. During last season, he managed to captain his team to the Europa League final in Stockholm.
