Bosz leaves Ajax for Dortmund

It has been officially announced that Peter Bosz will be leaving Ajax to become the new Borussia Dortmund manager.

After spending one year at Ajax, Bosz has signed a two year contract at Borussia Dortmund. Bosz joins the German club after Thomas Tuchel announced that he would be leaving the club.

During his time at Ajax, Bosz reached the Europa League Final, as well as challenging for the league title. After manging the Dutch team for 56 games, he saw a total of 36 wins, 11 draws, 9 losses, goal difference of +69, and a win percentage of 64.29. His reign saw the breakthrough and establishment of players such as Kasper Dolberg, Hakim Ziyech, Davinson Sánchez, as well as several other talents breaking into the first team.

Reports have suggested that one of the factors for Bosz leaving Ajax is due to internal problems and friction within the club. One report goes to the extent of saying that Bosz and his assistant, Hendrie Krüzen, aren’t fully aligned with Dennis Bergkamp and Hennie Spijkerman.

Many Ajax fans will be left disappointed by this news as it appeared that Bosz was on the brink of establishing something special with the Amsterdammers. Unfortunately the fans were never given the pleasure of seeing what would be next, leaving many wondering what could have been.
